Capoeira was created over 400 years ago by slaves in Brazil. It is very fluid in movement, as it was disguised as a dance. This art also encompasses language (Portuguese), musical instruments (large conga-like drum, tamborine and "berimbau") as well as self control, respect and physical fitness.
