Johnnys IceHouse Johnnys IceHouse, founded in 1997, has become the premiere ice facility in the Chicagoland area. Privately owned and operated, this Chicago venue boasts one of the largest adult hockey leagues in the Midwest and it continues to grow. The rink is working hard to encourage adult beginners to pick up the sport of hockey. There is a weekly adult skills clinic offered on Tuesdays designed for beginners and people who are still trying to grasp the overall concepts of the game. For people wanting to learn the strategies and team oriented skills, Johnny�s offers the Monday evening Instructional League.For kids, the facility offers ice skating and hockey classes. The Icicle Club is for 2 and 3 year olds and is an introduction to ice skating. Parents accompany the children on the ice to keep them from feeling overwhelmed. Learn to Skate has 3 different levels, beginner 1, 2, and 3. It�s designed for kids ages 3 and a half to 12. The students move up when they have certain skills needed at the next level. Once they complete Beginner 3, they are ready to move on to the Learn to Play Hockey class. Here, the kids learn the basics of hockey, focusing on skating technique, balance, and an introduction to stickhandling, passing, and shooting.All in all, Johnny�s IceHouse has something for everyone.
