Marsha s Music Together Music Together is aresearch-based, international music and movement program for children (0-5 yrs) and the adults who love them, and believes that all children are musical. Marsha's Music Together is one of 2000 centers around the world and has three locations in Chicago neighborhoods: Hyde Park, Lincoln Park and Wicker Park. Classes are once a week for 10 weeks for fall, winter, and spring, with a shorter 6-week summer session. The teachers are trained in early childhood music development and model for the parents and the children how to play with music. The 45-minute classes are filled with singing, playing instruments, dancing, and information, with beautiful songbooks and CDs for each family every session (included in tuition). There are 9 collections which cover a three-year period. The collections are not sequential; instead, each collection provides a buffet of musical information, styles, tonalities and meters. Children are immersed in the language of music and through experiential play teach themselves basic music competence over time. Classes are mixed-age, a family model, so siblings can attend together and the babies, toddlers and preschoolers all learn from being together. Marsha's Music Together runs fall: mid-September to early December; winter: January through March; spring: April to mid-June; and summer: mid-June through July.
